The more I embrace the idea of the work that I have chosen to do in this world, the more immersed I become in the fluid of wonder. Its ironic honestly, this effort began with intentions of expanding ideas of mental health care practices to minority #Nashville populations. I am the minority: black, black female, black educated female, black educated female therapist. I wonder “what does this black educated female therapist have to offer?” I offer myself with honesty and truth, in words and actions. I wonder “what can I do with this voice, this platform, this passion?” I can be myself and make some noise in the process. From one minority to the next, let’s be and live well. Express those thoughts, share those feelings, look within, and become acquainted with self. Wonder about what makes you feel whole, what makes your family thrive, what revives you. (Oh, and let’s not confuse wonder, free flowing positive thoughts, with worry, persistent anxious thoughts.) Its the wonder that lures me into living authentically well. pretty brown eyes and a mind full of thoughts.
