Nearly a year ago, I was awakened by a pure and simple feeling of supreme joy. Before parting my lids, I immediately recalled the most vivid imagery of being presented with gift by a woman adorned with beautiful cocoa kissed skin. Without need of verbal confirmation, it was clear that she was loving, wise, and intuitive. My left hand held firmly, yet gently, by both of her hands, we sat next to one another, slightly angled inward and I became more engaged in the words she spoke to me. Though my conscious ears could not hear, Ashley of higher consciousness received the words of affirmation and welcome into the immediate and extended family. While speaking, she presented me with a small, ring sized box that was simply wrapped with a thin, somewhat delicate tied bow made of ivory ribbon. Without breaking meaningful eye contact, which spoke a language between us in it’s own rite, I took the gift in my hand. Simultaneously, my peripheral vision captured family & friends mingling, dancing, and communing all around us, most significant was the man whom invited me to the family gathering as his guest. In the midst of a fun, casual family gathering, I received “the gift” from the woman who knew that she would become my mother-in-law. She was mother of the man whom I had accompanied to the gathering as friends. She knew. It was clear within the dream that we had met and spoken at times before this encounter, but none of that mattered. I did not recall then and I do not recall now, what happened before or after “the gift”. I do recall waking to a simple joy of knowing a receiving love.
