Private practice was a goal of mine, entrepreneurism was not. I intended on starting independent work about 5 years post grad school, give myself some time to work in my field and learn the nuances. Imagine my surprise when 2 1/2 years earlier than I PLANNED, I chose to trust my intuition and take a leap into independent work. The confidence that I felt in my therapeutic practice did not transfer to my business practices. I was foolish in the best sense of the word; optimistic, naive, and brimming with positive expectation. Though I don’t regret one decision, I do see an area that I can strengthen.
